自1851年英國(guó)倫敦舉辦第一屆世界展覽會(huì)以來(lái)，世博會(huì)因其發(fā)展迅速而享有“經(jīng)濟(jì)、科技、文化領(lǐng)域內(nèi)的奧林匹克盛會(huì)”的美譽(yù)。按照國(guó)際展覽局的規(guī)定，世界博覽會(huì)按性質(zhì)、規(guī)模、展期分為兩種：一種是注冊(cè)類(lèi)（以前稱(chēng)綜合性）世博會(huì)，展期通常為6個(gè)月，從2000年開(kāi)始每5年舉辦一次；另一類(lèi)是認(rèn)可類(lèi)（以前稱(chēng)專(zhuān)業(yè)性）世博會(huì)，展期通常為3個(gè)月，在兩屆注冊(cè)類(lèi)世博會(huì)之間舉辦一次。
注冊(cè)類(lèi)世界博覽會(huì)不同于一般的貿(mào)易促銷(xiāo)和經(jīng)濟(jì)招商的展覽會(huì)，是全球最高級(jí)別的博覽會(huì)。 距2010年上海世博會(huì)最近的一屆綜合類(lèi)世博會(huì)于2005年在日本愛(ài)知舉行。下面就來(lái)看看歷屆世博會(huì)的舉辦地和主題吧。
