The Shanghai Dewei Mingxing New Energy Technology Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Dewei Advanced Material Co, recently reached a cooperation deal with the Shanghai International Automobile City, located in the city's Jiading district, local media reported on June 15.

According to the deal, Dewei will move its new energy R&D center into the automobile city. The two sides will use their advantages to facilitate the industrialization of hydrogen fuel cell cars.

The two sides will also jointly build a demonstration route for fuel cell buses running from Taicang, Jiangsu province, to Anting, Jiading district. The facility is designed to support the companies' R&D efforts of fuel cell vehicles, while its prominent location will simultaneously raise public awareness of the new technology.

Zhou Jianming, chairman of Dewei Advance Materials Co, said that he thinks highly of the prospects for hydrogen fuel cells in the new energy field and that it will be a technological breakthrough if the hydrogen fuel cell car program succeeds.
