Although the United States is sending shockwaves through global markets with its tariff threats, Malaysia and China can deepen collaboration within regional frameworks to continue development, Sufian Jusoh, a professor at the National University of Malaysia told China Daily in a recent interview.

Jusoh highlights the potential benefits of these agreements such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and an upgrading ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement. He notes that Malaysia and China can capitalize on this opportunity to enhance their production of electronic products for both the ASEAN market and the larger RCEP market.

Agreements may eliminate tariffs on most products, fostering a robust supply chain and creating an internal market within ASEAN countries. This development is expected to significantly boost economic collaboration and trade efficiency in the region.
